DESCRIPTION OF JOB DUTIES:

This is a temporary, full-time, 10-month position 
 ·         Responsible for classroom and lab instruction in all phases of Industrial Maintenance and Instrumentation. 
·         Responsible for professional and technical development in areas of deficient qualifications, and responsible for staying current in related fields. 
·         Curriculum development, equipment and laboratory development and maintenance, in conjunction with other members of the related departments at Amarillo College.
·         Travel and teach as needed, for any Amarillo College campus or training site.
       Advising and counseling students.
·         Serve on, or meet with committees within Amarillo College and related to area Industry.
·         Learn and maintain proficiency with Amarillo College computer systems and Learning Management Systems.
·         Must work with entire faculty to maintain all facilities and equipment related to Industrial Maintenance Technology and Precision Metal Working.

GENERAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

Three years of experience in Industrial HVACR, instrumentation, industrial plant or field maintenance required. Must possess or acquire EPA Universal certification within six months of employment.


EDUCATION:
Completion of an industrial based apprenticeship program or equivalent technical training required. Will be required to obtain an Associate Degree within a specified period of time. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Skills in plant maintenance to include: electrical (including National Electrical Codes), motor controls; alignment, vibration, infrared and reliability applications; electronics and controls, troubleshooting as related to instrumentation; heating (gas and electric), ventilation, air conditioning and commercial refrigeration controls. Must be able to operate and maintain industrial, electrical, construction, fabrication, maintenance, and test equipment. Must possess a strong commitment to student success, innovation, collaboration and instructional quality. Must be in good physical condition and be able to stand, walk, bend, and move materials and equipment up to 50 Ibs. Must be able to climb and work on ladders. Must be able to handle conditions related to working in maintenance area. Ability to work under stress, work independently and as a team member, and deal with people in a professional manner. Evening and some weekend work required
