DESCRIPTION OF JOB DUTIES:
Under Amarillo College’s Promotional Opportunity Policy, only current appointed employees will be considered for this position during the first five (5) working days from the date of notice.
Responsible for operating video camera, videotape and sound recording equipment for studio, remote or electronic production. Determines lighting needs and operates lighting equipment; perform non-linear editing; operate closed captioning authoring and encoding systems; and deliver content/projects to multiple platforms (broadcast, web, interactive, etc.). Will be required to create graphics, animation and slides; make DVD copies; work with appropriate individuals to determine content and format of videotape productions; and operate professional broadcast and/or digital content equipment/software (AVID editing system, Adobe Creative Suites, television broadcast switcher, character generator, audio board and video switcher, etc.). Responsible for the creation and building of studio sets. May serve as a production director and may be required to prepare various project forms. May assist students in a student production lab. Performs other duties as required.

GENERAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
Three years of experience in television and/ or professional production work is required. Five years of experience in television and/or professional production work is preferred.
Associate Degree or equivalent experience in television, broadcasting, film or related field required. Bachelor's Degree in television, broadcasting, film or related field preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must have knowledge of professional video production procedures, practices, techniques and terminology. Ability to creatively plan and translate abstract concepts into effective visual form. Good writing and oral communication skills. Must demonstrate ability to prioritize work, meet required deadlines, and complete a variety of production/content creation tasks. Must be familiar with all phases of production equipment including set-up, operations, and basic troubleshooting. Ability to work under stress, to work independently or as a team member, and treat people in a professional manner. May require some work on evenings, weekends, and holidays. Some travel may be required. Must be able to move material weighing up to 20 pounds.
